You are more than likely on the hunt for the best documentary wedding photographer to document the most important day of your life. But I would like to take a minute to tell you how you can make your experience tons better. Professional wedding photographers are in the business of love, as there is something quite appealing about being able to document the union of two people. As a professional documentary wedding photographer myself this is most certainly an honour and something I don’t take lightly.
To make your wedding planning continue to run smoothly I will provide some tips to ensure you get the best photography that you deserve. Plus it will enable you more time on the interesting side of wedding planning such as trying on dresses and eating cake.
A little bit of research does go a long way
In the hustle and bustle of planning your wedding try and resist the temptation to just book a wedding photographer without thinking about what you want out of your photography. It can seem very easy to find a photographer as there are plenty available but as a photographer myself I recommend that you find the perfect one to create your vision. This article is not about me but your day, but may I add that looking at photographers that are preferred at your venue should be the first step. I have worked closely with venues in and around London building lasting relationships which has enabled me to be the preferred supplier at some the UK’s premium locations including Claridges, The Four Seasons, Tylney Hall and The Langham. As I already have knowledge and experience of taking photos at these venues I know what lighting works, best places to take photos and what doesn’t work. This can be fantastic when time is of the essence.
The most important thing is TRUST
The key is to have a documentary wedding photographer that you trust and will capture you in the most flattering manner. My own style is to be totally relaxed. I want you to feel comfortable in my presence and if you are relaxed then your photos will be far better.
Find out extra things about your photographers
I am not saying that you need to know what I like for breakfast but have an appreciation for your photographer’s career and what they have achieved. For example in my past twenty years of a professional documentary photographer I have been very fortunate to develop the reputation as being one of London’s leading wedding photographers. In fact I have gained many awards along the way including three times winner of The MPA UK Wedding Photographer of the Year and MPAc Editorial Photographer of the Year. I’ll stop blowing my own trumpet but it gives you an idea of how well known across the wedding photography industry your chosen photographer is.
Enough about me, it’s all about you and your day. But if you do consider me, it would give me great pleasure in being able to capture your memories for a lifetime.
