I’ve been reading that Tartan is a popular fashion trend for Fall Winter 2013. Seeing that tartan colors are in the Christmas holiday spirit, I thought it would be a fun idea to buy my kids tartan party outfits for Christmas.
After searching online, I found lots of gorgeous tartan dresses for girls and sharp shirts and jackets for boys. I even found matching doll dresses and teddy bear tops!
Here are some of my favorite tartan holiday outfits:
Rachel Riley from the UK has gone all the way with her tartan holiday look. On her website you’ll find a page dedicated to “Seasonal Tartan for Winter 2013”. I found a 100% cotton pleated tartan dress for girls up to size 10Y and matching hair bow or headband. One thing I love is the matching tartan doll dress or teddy bear shirt. For my boys I found a tartan shirt and matching bow or necktie.
I discovered Rachel Riley when I watched her video interview on youtube by Dashin Fashion Kids Magazine.
Ralph Lauren has a gorgeous 100% silk Tartan Party Dress designed with a big black bow at the waist. It has puffed sleeves, a flared skirt with petticoat and genuine mother-of-pearl buttons at the back. I also found a matching tartan headband. Another option is a pretty red ruffled tartan chiffon dress. For baby boys I found an adorable tartan shirt and denim set and the cotton tuxedo pant set. For big boys I found a cotton tartan black shirt and gorgeous vintage wool tartan tie (neck or bow tie).
Another traditional tartan holiday look that I found is by Oscar de la Renta Kids. They have two tartan dresses that I love. The first gathered sleeve dress is made of 100% red wool tartan and has a velvet green collar. The second is a sleeveless dress with a velvet green top and red tartan skirt made of 100% cotton. There are also matching green velvet shoes to complete the look.
For little boys Oscar de la Renta has two adorable tartan outfits, a little boy romper or Spanish boys shorts and shirt. For big boys I found a gorgeous boys festive holiday blazer and matching tartan neck tie.
I’m still not sure which holiday tartan look to go with, but I’m glad to see that there are lots of options to choose from! I think our holiday pictures are going to look great this year in our festive matching tartan outfits.
